Hospitals are one of the most complex building types due to their wide range of services and functional units. The project requires specialized consultants to overview highly complicated mechanical, electrical and telecommunications systems during planning and design of the hospital.

One of the most important factors in hospitals or any healthcare environment is hygiene.

The functional units within the hospital have crucial needs and priorities to ensure the end user safety and wellbeing. Thus, it is important for the designer and contractor to idealized scenarios while strongly held individual preferences to find balance against mandatory requirements, end user daily activity and financial status of the organization.

Laboratories are designed for lab personnel to achieve their professional endeavours. Many laboratories feature specialized equipment such as emergency shower and eyewash, laboratory sink and equipment to carry out specific, highly defined processes. Laboratory furniture is designed with materials that are conducive to the work being performed and designed in a manner that can withstand the rigors of lab environments. It is important to choose the right material for the furniture surface as this impacts the longevity of the furniture investment.

The laboratory shall be completely separated from other areas, keep unauthorized personnel from entering where hazardous operations are performed.

Hospitals for instance, are exposed to high traffic 24 hours a day, which requires the floor to be capable of withstanding heavy foot traffic and wheel loads. With no trouble, vinyl flooring can handle this task as it is very durable, resilient, and provides comfort underfoot for patients and staff to walk on daily basis.

Because of its ease of cleaning, maintenance and dirt-resistant nature, vinyl flooring is the product of choice for modern healthcare interiors such as hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, pharmacies, and medical centres.

Good hygiene is a top priority when it comes to hospital flooring, as it is continuously in contact with doctors, nurses, visitors, and patients. A hygienic floor covering not only prevent patients from catching infections and diseases but also stop bacteria and germs from spreading to the outside of the hospital.

Vinyl flooring is widely used in the healthcare sector among the anti-static flooring solutions because of its great anti-static performance and physical features.

One of the reasons vinyl floorings is more hygienic than other floor coverings is because it features an impervious layer. This makes bacteria and germs have nowhere to hide.
